One of the best most challenging journeys you will ever go on is seeing what your body is capable of. Maybe you are in shape, totally out of shape, or just expecting to lose some weight. Nevertheless, developing a body that you really can be proud, one that's healthy, and permits you to really adore every last inch of it truly is an amazing journey to undertake.

So what's the secret behind making an enduring change with your body?

Consistency and commitment.

There's nothing else like coming to the table every day and giving it your best shot. Your best effort must be yours and yours alone. Don't start comparing your journey to other journeys or else you may become unmotivated and deterred. Instead, really try and understand that you are competing with yourself and yourself alone. Will there be times on your journey where you try and fail? Yes, many times. But every single time you do, you need to come back with a commitment to achieving something that you strongly desire. Consistency will keep you in the game and on the field each day. Without it, you will suffer the the inevitable reality of many new years resolutioners who give up each single year on developing the body of their dreams because they are missing the personal power to keep on coming back repeatedly timeand again.

Commitment also comes to mind, although not the commitment that you are possibly thinking of in this case. In our world, we are fed this strong idea that everything must occur right now and if it doesn't happen right now, it's not worthwhile. Your body is going to drastically change throughoutthe years, so why don't you make a lifelong commitment to staying healthy? Is that an attractive packageable idea? Not so much. But is it something that would really change the course of your life? Absolutely.

When you make a pledge to keeping your body healthy through your entire life, you may ultimately reach whatever goal you wish. It is about seeing the bigger picture than just the few months in front of you until summer. It is about developing something that you can be proud of for all the years to come. For me, that new concept made my life different as I was able to finally hit my fitness goals after 12 years of struggling with my self-image and food issues. But as soon as I modified my world view of what I was making an attempt to attain, everything I had wished for came to me. So try it on for size and see if it's working for you. Make a total commitment to staying healthy and watch how much your body will change in the short term too.

Bring some commitment and consistency to the table, in all aspects of your life, and things will change drastically.
